ACK! I've got ten minutes to get a poem written!
Emptiness
The experts say you should never
write a poem
about grand subjects:
love
lonliness
despair
anger
hatred
anything extreme at all.
Then why write anything,
unless it is pushed and pulled, prodded
by some unseen force, driving it from
within you,
until you have no choice
but to write it.
Thanks for reading,
The Fat Kid

I love that you begin a poem with the phrase "The experts say" - sets up some interesting expectations, many of them satirical. Sounds like a stint on the Daily Show or the Colbert Report, actually. Anyway, about the poem, a nice reflection on external expectations and how poetry beckons sometimes whether it is the will of the writer or not. Shy not away, O poet.
One tiny thing...the last few lines really seem a question, so should be punctuated as such.
